From one blog to another....

It's the most beautiful Autumn day (told you Autumn was a great season!!) The ducks are swimming on the lake and everyone else is in the shade and taking it easy (except Sila who's in the airing cupboard! Obviously not warm enough for her).  The six little piggies born to Marlene last week are checking out the mud pool that we've made for them.  What a week for them!  Barely five days old and they've already got a swimming pool!  Merryck and Keith are very excited that the shooting season starts tomorrow and are out in the field practising retrieving!  DelBoy is chilling in the shade.  He's turning into a very handsome pig with a lovely character.  He's not quite Rodders, but he's not doing badly and Spillers Farm is becoming slightly more famous by being mentioned in a blog from a recent guest LeeAnn Peat.  You can check it out here http://viewfromthehamsterwheel.blogspot.com/

LeeAnn took some fabulous photos of Spillers on her recent trip and I think her blog is worth checking out!  She's taken photos of things that I just don't even think of, like our wonderful table in the breakfast room and our keyrings (which all bear a picture of an individual Spillers Farm character). There's also a smashing picture of DelBoy running towards them for a cuddle with a smile on his face Laughing

I've been busy picking pears from the tree (they are just perfectly ripe) and noticing that one of the apple trees is starting to blossom again.  This sudden heatwave is a bit confusing for the garden! I wonder how long it will last?  As soon as its over it'll be jam and chutney making time.  The freezer is full of plums, raspberries, strawberries and apples, so there'll be plenty to do.  Better get out and get some more blackberries before all the hedges get trimmed!
