I'd just finished writing my previous blog about using every part of the animal when the doorbell rang and I took delivery of our four sheepskin rugs made from last years' orphan lambs. They are beautifully soft and deep and will look lovely in any room in the house. We start the process by salting the skins by hand when they come back from the abbattoir and then send them off to one of the few remaining tanneries in this country. It's in Devon, so still local, and used by our famous neighbours Axminster Carpets. Regular readers of this blog will know that I have my own lovely big sheepskin made from my beloved sheep PFS right next to my bed and I start and end each day by cuddling my feet into her. I can highly recommend cuddly sheepskin as a lovely greeting for feet! Two of the skins are already reserved, but if you'd like to have a rug with a personal touch please call us on 01297 551316 or email
