It's a sad day when you have to say goodbye to one of your loved and longer resident animals, but the end of Rodney's life is drawing near. He's getting on and his back legs are becoming increasingly arthritic. Not only does this make walking difficult, it means he can't get up on his back pins too well and that means he's no longer able to do his job. And I'm afraid that means, he'll have to go. We also want to end his life before it becomes too painful for him to walk. He's already spending a lot of the day sitting down (he even eats sitting down). Rodders will be leaving us in the next week or so. Meanwhile, things can't stand still as our B&B guests still want their bacon and there's only one way to produce that, so our girls need another man. Bring on DelBoy! A lively young boar of just 18 months old, DelBoy is another Gloucester Old Spot and he's been here for a couple of days now. There's been some immediate interest from Marlene who has been flirting with him over the fence. We're going to put them together in the next couple of days. I'm not sure when we'll let him meet Cassandra. DelBoy is quite small compared to Rodney and Cassandra is quite large, so DelBoy better behave himself or she'll sit on him!!
